Fantastic book! There is some great advice here. This book can save you a lot of money because learning these lessons through hard experience can be an expensive education indeed. I've been reading about Thai culture for ten years and still learned a lot from this book. Everything else I read in this book matches up with 90% of the wisdom I've acquired over the years from other books about real Thai culture. I've read all of The Blether's non-fiction at this point and can recommend every single book. The first time I read this book was through Kindle Unlimited and this book is so good that I went back and bought it outright. A perfect book for American (or Canadian, or English, or Australian...) gentlemen who were raised to believe that being polite, kind, generous, honest, clean, well-dressed, and well-groomed would make them successful with western women. It won't, but our efforts to be this way are not wasted because many of these qualities for which women back home show no appreciation, good Asian women certainly do! This is a very well written book, very useful in many life situations, not only when looking for Thai lady.
Sound sensible stuff, as far as it goes
I would have considered giving it five stars if it had had contained a bit more about the variety within the category 'Good Thai Lady' and how different good Thai ladies may meet a good farang man.
To me, as it stands, it is just a tad one-sided and a tad Bangkok-centric.
After reading the Thai hookers book its good to move on to this one. Get an idea of how good ladies and hookers dont mix. They can be wonderful mates, but there are so many pitfalls on the route to finding a real lady.
The book has more insight about Thai culture than I thought it would have before I started reading it, and goes a long way in answering the question in the title. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that there a couple of contradictions. I have heard, and this book is adamant about pointing out, that for a Thai lady family will always come first, and it is best that a farang realize this fact up front. But, later in the book, the author gives a couple of examples of where a Thai lady sided with her husband over the wants/wishes of her family. All in all, this is a must read if developing a relationship with a good Thai lady is on your horizon, be it in your country or hers.
If this read is an accurate representation of reality I’m glad I’m celebrating my 36th year anniversary with a western wife. What a maze of deception, cultural conflicts and difference of opinion related integrity and trust.

For my purposes reading a book of this title was essential. I have had many good Thai lady girlfriends as well as a few whores, the latter of which is inevitable for a farang. They are all lovely at some level and much different than their Western counter parts. From my experience, in general, Thai women are more sensual and sex-loving, so the 3 date chaperoned minimum has not been my experience. And when you become in sync with each other the results are earthshaking. Other than that, follow the Blether's recommendations and name your children after him.
I purchased this book after my first trip to Thailand. I thought I would give it a try to see if there was a way to really find a good Thai woman for my life. After reading the book I met a woman online and then after a few months I went to Chiaing Mai to meet her. All I can say is that this book was very accurate and gave me insight as to what to expect when I truly meet a good Thai woman who has a traditional way of life. The book explained exactly what I had to endure when waiting for her to accept me. I am very glad I knew this information from the book because I was frustrated and unsure. But, I stuck it out and now I have an amazing Girlfriend who hopefully will be in my life forever. Thanks Blether!!!
